The Bacteria Filter Heater is mainly designed to filter out the bacteria and viruses in the exhaled gas from patients connected to ventilators either in ICU at hospital or the home care sector. The main flow filter inside the heater has been tested with 99.9999% BFE & 99.99% VFE by Nelson Laboratories.

The condensed water inside the breathing circuit from the humidification system is also trapped by the filter and collected by the water trap which is directly connected at the bottom of filter. Meanwhile the heated temperature of heater is kept between 55 to 70°C to kill viruses and bacteria. Accordingly, the extremely less condensed water is allowed to pass through the filter and then into the expiratory flow sensor in the ventilator. This also protects the flow sensor from being damaged by the condensed water and makes the detected tidal volume more precise.
